Meet the Blog: Bookish Bitch Posted on 30 January 202528 February 2025 By Sage Elliott Meet Bookish Bitch. As the name might suggest, Bookish Bitch is a book blog. Starting in 2025, the plan is for Bookish Bitch to focus on works by authors who identify as women, trans, nonbinary, intersex, or hold some other gender expansive identity. Ok, that’s not strictly true: I’ve gone through periods where I’ve enjoyed reading more than others. This was largely due to external factors. A book blog has been something I wanted to create ever since blogging entered my radar. Truth be told, I’ve started – and given up on – several book blogs over the years. The first post went up on Bookish Bitch in 2024. Unfortunately, the blog suffered because I didn’t really have a clear idea of my niche or who my target audience was. By March, I had pretty much given up on posting consistently. Bookish Bitch was dormant for the rest of 2024. New beginnings I still want to make book blogging a thing. Towards the end of 2024, I started thinking about ways I could revamp Bookish Bitch. One of the things I decided was that I needed to be more specific about my niche. Simply calling it a book blog and throwing up whatever wasn’t going to work. I decided that Bookish Bitch would focus on works by authors who identify as women, trans, nonbinary, intersex, or hold another gender-expansive identity. I deleted a lot of the posts I published in 2024 because I wasn’t happy with them. Why I chose this niche I consider myself a feminist and I’m also a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. Books by authors who identify as women, trans, nonbinary, intersex, or hold some other gender expansive identity make up the majority of what I tend to read anyway. Additionally, I think the voices who identify in this way are important – as are other marginalized voices. I am hoping to use my platform – however small – to amplify these voices. Content I generally expect new posts to go up on my book blog weekly(ish). New posts should go up on Tuesdays around noon EST.
