Meet the Blog: Grrrl Fans Posted on 10 April 20255 April 2025 By Sage Elliott Wait, wait, ANOTHER blog?! Yup. I guess I couldn’t help myself. Meet one of my newest blogs, Grrrl Fans. With Grrrl Fans, I wanted to explore women, girls and feminine presenting people in fandom. I’m well aware that this isn’t really a unique concept, but perhaps I can put my own spin on it. There may be some overlap between Grrrl Fans and She Treks. We’ll see. How Grrrl Fans Will Be Different What makes Grrrl Fans a little bit different from my other blogs is that it’s not just a blog – it’s a blog/newsletter hybrid. What this means In short, some content will only be available to people who are subscribed. Subscribing is currently free; it has the following benefits: 💚 All content published after signing up will be Emailed to you when it goes live. 💚 Member only content will be visible to subscribers who are signed in. 💚 You will be able to comment on posts. Content Plan The free newsletter I will be using this space primarily to review episodes of various television series. I hope to explore series with interesting female characters and/or have large-ish female fanbases. Right now, I’m rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender. Once I’ve made it through the series, I plan on moving on to The Legend of Korra, Avatar: Seven Havens, and possibly other series set in the universe. Once I’ve had my fill of Avatarverse, I’ll move on to other television franchises. Meanwhile I don’t want Grrrl Fans to just be about television, though that’s certainly going to be a part of it. I’d like to explore other media, ranging from music to video games to films. I’ll be using the public blog posts to explore some of these topics. Some posts include listicles, short bios of creators and fans, etc. I hope to look at the contributions of fans in the form of things like zines, fan fiction, cosplay, podcasts, etc. All these ideas are in the works and I can’t speak to exactly when they will be available. Does This Make Sense? I never know if I’m explaining things in a way that is understandable to others. If you’re confused, it’s probably me. Posting Schedule Newsletter posts will go live on Mondays at 12 noon EST. I’m not entirely sure when the blog posts will go live. Recent Posts The following are the most recent posts from the RSS feed. I confess I’m not sure what posts will appear, but hopefully, you should have an idea of what’s available.
